Ray Hsu

Ray Hsu is an attorney at law with the Law Offices of Ray Hsu & Associates, P.C. He has been practicing law in California for more than a decade. Over the years, he has demonstrated exceptional skill in labor and employment law, with a strong focus on trial litigation in the Superior Courts and Courts of Appeal within the counties of Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange, and San Diego.

Mr. Hsu previously served as a judicial extern at the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, gaining valuable experience in civil litigation involving administrative law. During his externship, he drafted judgments, motions, mediation statements, and discovery orders. Additionally, while externing for a judge in the felony trial criminal division at the San Francisco Superior Court, he gained exposure to various aspects of criminal law, including jury trials, preliminary hearings, and court proceedings.

Mr. Hsu graduated magna cum laude from The University of Arizona in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Media Arts and a minor in Japanese Language Studies. He earned his Juris Doctor in 2010 from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, with a concentration in Civil Litigation.

He is admitted to practice law before the Federal U.S. District Court for the Central District of California as well as all state courts in California.

Even before founding his own firm, Mr. Hsu demonstrated a deep commitment to serving underrepresented communities. He volunteered with the Workers’ Rights Unit of the Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County, assisting indigent individuals seeking justice from their employers.

Today, Mr. Hsu continues to represent both employees and employers in a wide range of employment law matters, including workplace discrimination, retaliation for workplace injuries, sexual harassment, unpaid wages, wrongful termination, workplace privacy, misappropriation of trade secrets, and wage and hour disputes.

He also served as a Public Interest Fellow at the Asian Pacific American Legal Center (now Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Los Angeles), and continues to provide pro bono legal services through organizations such as the Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association.

Mr. Hsu’s legal practice focuses on court and jury trials involving California and federal labor and employment law. He is a long-standing member of several professional legal associations, including the Labor and Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of California, and the Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association.

In addition to his legal work, Mr. Hsu is an active community volunteer. He regularly serves as a judge and scoring attorney for mock trial competitions organized by nonprofit groups such as the Constitutional Rights Foundation, helping to inspire and mentor the next generation of legal professionals.
